Mercedes-Benz E Class Additional Information
Registered on December 31st 1991 this W124 series 500E is finished in Blue Black metallic paint (199U) with black/grey sports check cloth & half leather upholstery (071). Having covered just 79k miles (showing 128,000kms), since 2001 its long term custodian kept the car at his home in London & Lisbon, covering nominal mileage during that time travelling between the two cities. In January 2018 ownership passed to the gentleman’s son upon his passing, & sometime later the car was then sold to its most recent owner in 2020 who has had the car well maintained during her ownership through ourselves using Mercedes Benz service specialists. For sale on her behalf this iconic W124 500E has received a full service by a leading Mercedes-Benz service specialist, who provided the car with various OEM parts where required. Some of these items include new rear suspension bushes, arms, service items etc. Supplied with 12 months MOT & fitted with a new set of premium tyres. A new Blaupunkt Blue Tooth stereo head unit with hands free function & music streaming has been recently fitted for modern day driving/communication advantages, and a new set of Ribbed carpet mats fitted to compliment the unmarked interior. Now for a bit of history on this model..The 500E/E500 (W124.036) models were produced from 1990 to 1995 as Mercedes-Benz' high-performance version of the W124. Due to Mercedes' engineering department being completely occupied developing the new S-Class W140, Mercedes-Benz commissioned Porsche in 1989 to redesign the W124 chassis to accommodate the M119 5.0L V8 engine, as used in the SL500 R129, along with the required changes to the suspension system and drive train. A total of over 1,100 new or modified parts featured. A true icon within the history of Mercedes Benz was born, and a prequel to the AMG cars of today. With a total of only 10,479 examples made between 1991 & 1995 these models are the second rarest of all that Mercedes-Benz produced. More photos to follow, for f
